Summerfest August 8th 2015

Get ready to have a blast at Summerfest 2015! The Summerfest Picnic is a great way to meet you neighbors and be a part of this great community. Join us for lunch at our beautiful beach park. Start constructing your boat for year long bragging rights in the neighborhood.

7:30 am Fishing Contest with Great Prizes
8:00 am Set Up ~Volunteers need!
12:00-2:30 Catered Lunch for Members in Good Standing
3:00 Cardboard Boat Regatta

We will have a Raffle with great prizes, a hula hoop contest, a watermelon eating contest and a dunk tank!

Bring your own beverage! Coolers are welcome!

It is sure to be a great time. Volunteers for set up (8:00 am Sat) and breakdown (5:00pm) are welcome contact Krissysnyder@hotmail.com to help make Summerfest a success!

Cardboard Boat Rules

▪ the hull of the boat must be made of cardboard or corrugated paper any weight of cardboard is permitted
▪ all major supports and for the hull must be made of cardboard. No other material may be used to support the hull
▪ oars, paddles and paddle wheels, steering systems, mast and sails need not be made of cardboard
▪ Hulls can be waterproofed with any one part substance. There are many commercial preparations available. Shellac, varnish, polyurethane or some house paints have worked well. Secret hint: don’t forget to waterproof the inside as well
▪ two part substances are NOT allowed i.e. epoxy, fiberglass paints, and varnishes that require the addition of a catalyst.
▪ *All participants must wear coast guard approved lifejackets
▪ all participants must be 4 years of age unless an older child accompanies child on the craft
▪ unsportsmanlike conduct will not be permitted and will disqualify you from the race.
▪ No use of pyrotechnics will be permitted

Safety of our Parks

Please continue to your part to make sure Beach Park and other parks stay safe. Please continue to close the gate when entering and monitor the beach for people entering the park by climbing or circumventing the gate. There have been several incidents of vandalism to boats, piers and public drunkness reported. A security system and additional fencing will be installed along the perimeter of the park. Trespassing can be reported to Lake County Sheriffs Department.(847-549-5200) The park is private property to be used only by neighbors in good standing and their guests only.

Neighbors are encouraged to attend the Board Meetings held every month on the first Wednesday of the Month at 7:00pm at Countryside Fire Department. Come out and support the neighborhood.
