Minutes of the Oak Terrace Improvement Association Board Meeting-March 4, 2015

 

Board members present-Jim Loring, Dan Griffin, William Yarbrough, Greg Denny, Ramona Triebold, Jeff Keske, Tracy Kleinschmidt, Kevin Shifley, and Colleen Hodges

Members at large present-Alphonso Contreras and Walter Rodriguez.

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:02pm by Greg Denny.

 

A motion was made by Ramona to dispense with the reading of the minutes. Tracy seconded and the motion passed.

 

Treasurer’s Report- Dan reported that we have 90 property dues paid at the time of the meeting. The total in membership dues received was $14,439. Sixteen boat ramp keys were purchased and the income for the boat ramp from December to March stood at $400. We are showing a balance in all accounts of $26,381.18.

 

Lake Committee-Tracy reported that the relationship with Margaret Resnick of MPRD is good and after receiving a number of RFPs, they have decided to go with Hay and Associates to develop a lake management plan for Diamond Lake. The cost of this project is $5,000 which will be covered by MPRD. This plan development is a one-time event and will be the plan put into place to restore and maintain the lake’s good health. Tracy also reminded the membership of the Diamond Lake Preservation Alliance meetings held on the third Monday each month at the Countryside Fire Station 1

meeting room. At the March 16th meeting, Hay and Associates will be present to answer questions.

 

Parks Committee-Greg reported that the snow fencing put up to protect the wetlands has been knocked down and driven over by snowmobiles and ATVs. Jim will send a letter to area residents asking them to please respect the fencing.

 

Mr. Rodriguez has sent in the paperwork to consolidate his PINs and is contesting the past charges his properties have accumulated since 2010. He was asked to call Greg Denny the following day to make arrangements to bring his membership up-to-date.

 

Website and Newsletter-Krissy reported some problems with the website and is consulting with Julie Dickey, former webmaster, to resolve the issues. Krissy also reported that Ann Sipowicz wanted to do one last Acorn before she handed the reigns over to Krissy.

 

Ramona has volunteered to coordinate the Easter Parade and Egg Hunt this year. She will get information to Ann and Krissy for inclusion on the website and newletter.

 

Summerfest will be held on August 8th this year.

 

Mr. Contreras spoke to the board expressing his desire to see more activities planned for the children ofthe subdivision. Tracy has volunteered to meet with him to work out more specifics and to see what we can to to facilitate this in the future.

 

There being no further business, William made a motion to adjourn. Tracy seconded the motion and the meeting adjourned at 8:02pm.
