Minutes of the Oak Terrace Improvement Association-July 6, 2016

Board members present- William Yarbrough, Colleen Hodges, Jim Loring, Alfonso Contreras, Tracy Kleinschmidt, Ramona Triebold, Al Johnsonbaugh, Greg Denny, and Krissy Snyder.

The meeting was called to order by President Greg Denny at 6:59pm.

William made a motion to dispense with the reading of the June minutes. Jim seconded the motion and it passed.

Treasurer’s Report-Ramona reported all bills paid through mid-June. Currently there is a balance of $23,666.50 in Barrington Bank and Trust and a balance $21,587.22 at Consumer’s Credit Union.

Lake Issues-Tracy reported that the beaches on Diamond Lake have been closed a few times recently due to bacteria found in the lake when tested by Lake County Health Department. We will need to get a more permanent sign that can be posted when the beach must be closed. She also reported the lake being very clear and some milfoil popping up around the lake. Greg shared some of the information from the Diamond Lake Preservation Alliance meeting about the lake treatment and harvesting that MPRD is doing. ILM has suggested that the harvesting stop for now as it is resulting in spreading more invasives. They suggested it would be fiscally sound and a better course of treatment to use more herbicide. Tracy will be following up with Margaret about the different options. It was also reported that fishing on the lake has been very good. The raft was installed at the beach by Greg Denny and Mike Hodges.

Parks-Al reported the bushes have been removed by Dave Garcia. Al will be contacting the fence company for an installation date.

Restoration Areas-Jim reported that ILM was out at our sites on July 6th and that they reported the areas are in good shape. This was the second of four contracted visits treating for invasive species.

Summerfest- Colleen reported that the plans are set for our event on Saturday, August 20th at Beach Park. We have contracted with Cuomo Catering for the food. Taylor Rental will deliver all equipment needed. A letter will go out to residents detailing the event along with raffle tickets early in August. We will need volunteers to help with the event.

Legal-Greg and Ramona will meet to assess the need to start pursuing payment of overdue dues and assessments in order to begin collection processes again.

New Business- The Board has accepted the resignation of Al Johnsonbaugh as he will be leaving the neighborhood after the selling of his house. We thank him for his service. There being no further business before the Board, Alfonso made a motion to adjourn. Tracy seconded the motion and the meeting was adjourned at 7:42pm.

Respectfully submitted by Colleen Hodges-OTIA Secretary
