Oak Terrace Home Improvement Association
Board Meeting
Countryside Fire Station
June 1, 2012
7:00pm

  • Meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm with the following Board Members in attendance:  Dan Griffin, Gregg Zink, Greg Denny, Colleen Hodges, Frank Cirrincionne, Ken Krejsa and Cara Cuny.
  • Cara made motion to dispense with reading of the meeting minutes from May.  Colleen second, all in favor
  • Treasurer’s report was read by Dan Griffin:  Some misc items discussed:  We settled with Weiler for late dues from 2002 through present plus legal fees in the amount of $1,220.  Frost removed concrete in Hanson Park.  $1,398.43 was for the fence at Sunset Park.  Dan is still working on fixing a false-negative in the accounts receivable; he has not yet been able to figure out how to fix this.  A motion to accept the report was made by Frank Cirrincionne and seconded by Ken Krejsa.  There were no dissenting votes.
  • Road Committee:  Frank talked to Bill Grinnell 3 weeks ago.  Bill will paint stripes on the streets where he recommends placing the speed humps.
  • Oak Terrace Stickers:  Ken has ordered them.  They have not yet been delivered
  • Dina has placed our garage sale info on Craig’s list, the Advertiser and signs have been ordered.
  • Summer Fest update:  Kevin was not present, but he continues to work on it.  Colleen is handling the raffle.
  • Spring cleanup:  Although not heavily attended, we accomplished a lot.  Trash was picked up on all streets and route 83.  Lakeview Park was weeded and cleaned.  We discussed the possibility of making this a spring and fall event.  Greg will talk to Ann about putting a note in the Acorn about asking residents to volunteer their time patrolling the streets for trash.
  • Dan will contact the lawyer to come to the next meeting to discuss the bylaws.
  • Willow Rain Garden, Hanson and Lakeview Parks:  We have a 10 year agreement with the EPA that we continue to maintain these parks.  Gregg Zink put together a 5-year plan of scheduled maintenance.  Selective herbicide application, controlled burns, native plantings and permits are some of the maintenance items that need to be considered.  The goal is to get 3 bids to find out what cost we are looking at.  Otherwise, the burden of the maintenance falls upon the residence.  This will make our neighborhood nice and we could have an award winning garden.  Greg discussed a future WMB grant for silt traps.  Supported by Bill Grinnell.
  • Ken asked about rip rap being installed in front of the seawall.  Rich Reich is working on obtaining bids.
  • Ken asked about planting on the shore line.  Greg said that Lake County has information concerning that.  He will bring info for the next meeting.
  • Fobs:  Ready to go, Dan will talk to our attorney about renters.  (Do we need a separate agreement for renters?  Does the landlord need to sign-off on the rules or does the renter?)  We have 200 fobs.  Residents in good standing must read and sign the beach rules.
  • Boat slip renters:  We must establish the hierarchy of who has the first choice for a slip.  Options include:  OT resident in good standing.  Resident’s renter.  Land owner.  Gregg Zink will get the slip renter’s committee together to discuss how to handle this.
  • Frank asked about the possibility of finding a more useful use of the Lakeview Park.  Something to think about.

Motion to adjourn Colleen, Ken second.  All in favor.
