Minutes of the Oak Terrace Improvement Association Board Meeting-Febraury 4, 2015
The meeting was called to order at 7:01pm by President Greg Denny.
Board members present: Greg Denny, Kevin Shifley, Al Johnsonbaugh, Jim Loring, William Yarbrough, Ramona Triebold, Krissy Snyder, and Colleen Hodges. No members at large were present.
Dan Griffin was out of town so no treasurer’s report was available.
William Yarbrough made a motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes and accept them as presented to the board. Jim Loring seconded. The motion passed.
Lake Management- The RFPs are back to Margaret. The plan should be in place by March. Members of the board asked that there be adequate warning before spraying begins. The usual amount of time that needs to elapse between spraying and swimming is 24 hours. It was reported that Lake County tests the lake for ecoli. When we receive a report that the lake is unsafe, we place a sign on the fence and lock the gate. We have been using paper for the sign, but we are in the process of ordering a metal sign that can be hung on the gate in the event that the beach would need to be closed. The closure
usually is for a 24 hour period unless specified. There is a meeting for the lake preservation organization on Monday, February 16.
Parks- Lakeview Park’s snowfence was installed by Greg Denny and Mike Hodges. The fence needs to be repaired after portions of it collapsed during winter storms. Kevin Shifley has voluteered to make the repairs. Groot will be delivering a trash can to Lakeview Park.
Restoration Areas- ILM, McGinty, and Encap, along with two other companies will be sent RFPs for the management of these areas for the next year.
Legal- Four homes are in the process of collections. One homeowner has entered into a payment plan, but has stopped making payments.
Website- Krissy reported that she is working on the program. She also mentioned that she would be willing to take on the Acorn when Anne is ready to retire.
Acorn items- It was suggested that we encourage our residents to sign up for Diana O’Kelly’s (Fremont Township Supervisor) newsletter as many questions our residents have would be answered in this newsletter.
It was suggested that we set up a site on Google docs for our members to list phone, address, email address, etc. for use by the members of the subdivision. Ramona offered to compose a letter asking residents for this information and for permission to post it.
Items for the next meeting- we need to set a date for the Summer Fest and begin the planning process. Colleen reported that she will not be available to handle the Easter Parade and Egg Hunt this year as she will be out of town. We will firm up a volunteer at the next meeting.
There being no further business, Jim Loring made a motion to adjoun. Al Johnsonbaugh seconded and the motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 8:07pm.
